Red Star Introduces New $3 Happy Hour Menu Until 8:00 p.m.

Portland, OR (March 9, 2009) - When's the last time you had a downtown dining experience in Portland for less than $10? This week, Red Star unveiled a new happy hour menu that does just that� a new $3 food and drink menu that runs from 4:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. everyday! For example, guests can now dine on oysters and a glass of white wine for only $6, all while enjoying the plush surroundings of the newly renovated tavern.

"Not only are diners looking for real value right now, but for many people their work hours and days are shifting," says Lemmy Cooper, general manager of Red Star. "Our goal is to offer an affordable downtown dining option so people can still enjoy fresh, local fare and handcrafted cocktails."

The new happy hour menu, created by Red Star's Chef Thomas Dunklin, offers both small bites and larger, heartier plates that pair well with the tavern's eclectic happy hour drink selections - all for $3. Try pairing the Local Oysters with Jalapeno-Lime Mignonette ($3) with a gin and tonic ($3); or mix and match the Meatloaf, Cheddar Cheese and Spicy Ketchup Sliders ($3) with a local microbrew ($3). To top it off, Red Star is now offering an all-new taco menu with four options like Slow Cooked Beef, Cilantro, Onions and Salsa Roja Tacos ($3) or Shredded Chicken, Lime Crema and Pico de Gallo Tacos ($3), all of which pair perfectly with a handcrafted Margarita from the new $5 specialty cocktail list.

Red Star's new extended happy hour is offered everyday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is available in the tavern or on the patio on those "warmer" Oregon nights.
