Five of Portland’s Leading Female Chefs Share Their Strength® to End Childhood Hunger

Irving St. Kitchen Hosts "No Kid Hungry" Dinner Benefiting Share Our Strength®



Portland, Ore. (August 24, 2011) – Portland’s top female chefs will flex their muscles at Irving St. Kitchen, sharing their strength and collaborating on one phenomenal dinner to end childhood hunger in America.

On Monday, September 26th, Irving St. Kitchen Executive Chef Sarah Schafer will be joined by Naomi Pomeroy of Beast, Sarah Pliner of Aviary, Courtney Sproule of din din supper club and Kristen D. Murray of Paley’s Place for a 5-course “No Kid Hungry” dinner to benefit Share Our Strength®, the national organization’s inaugural Portland dinner.

“I’ve worked with Share Our Strength® in New York City and was thrilled that they were interested in bringing this dinner to Portland,” says Irving St. Kitchen Executive Chef Sarah Schafer. “This dinner is a testament to Portland’s collaborative spirit. It’s going to be amazing.”


Irving St. Kitchen and Executive Chef Sarah Schafer are hosting the evening that includes:

  • Cocktail hour, featuring guest mixologist Lucy Brennan of Mint and 820 and spirits from Bull Run Distillery
  • Wine pairings by Oregon's Boedecker Cellars, Brooks Winery, Chehalem Winery, Domaine Drouhin, Ferrari Champagne, Patricia Green Cellars and Sokol Blosser
  • 5-course dinner 
  • Silent Auction
  • Live Auction
