Pig and Pinot II
County Fair-to-Table Wine and Dine Event at The Original Dinerant
Portland, OR (July 27th, 2011) — Prepare to feast on your two favorite foods - pork and pinot. On Tuesday, August 9th, downtown Portland dinerant The Original and Big Table Farm are teaming up to bring you 'Pig and Pinot II'.
'Pig and Pinot II’ is the Original’s second annual prix-fixe pork feast, with a blue-ribbon winning pig sourced directly from the Washington County Fair’s “Prime Livestock Auction.” Proceeds from the auction benefit Hillsboro’s Future Farmers of America and the 4-H Club, educating kids through agriculture.
“Bidding for a pig exercises unique skills that I use only once a year. Now that I have the pig back in my kitchen, I will exercise my more familiar skills - butchery,” says Original’s Executive Chef Ryan Bleibtrey.
In Original style, 'Pig and Pinot II' rocks a menu that is full of playful twists on American classics. Each course of the dinner is inspired by a different part of the pig; for instance, the Belly and Jowels course is a bacon-latticed apple pie with aged cheddar and maple bacon ice cream!
Dinner begins at 7pm and costs $65. For reservations, call (503) 546-2666, or for more information visit www.originaldinerant.com. The Original is located at 300 SW 6th Avenue, Portland OR 97204.
